Ok, so here is ANOTHER tragedy of another young Black man GUNNED down senselessly. This one happened just THREE days after Michael Brown was gunned down in Ferguson Missouri. THREE DAYS…why? Had he committed a crime? No, unless you consider “fitting the description” as a crime. If “fitting the description” is, indeed, a crime, then all Blacks need to be on super high alert because it seems that whenever gunshots are heard, something goes missing or s*%t just ain’t going right, if you are Black, you are GUILTY of “fitting the description”. Oh, and if being Black were not enough of a condemnation, our dumb asses seem to always want to “go for the gun” (I AM BEING SARCASTIC HERE)–just the perfect excuse needed for the person behind the badge to fill us up with lead.
According to the report, two doctors consulted for gunshot wound appearance concurred that the wound in Ford’s back had a muzzle imprint, indicating the shot was fired at close range.
Los Angeles, CA — Just two days after unarmed teenager Michael Brown was killed in Ferguson, MO another young man on the west coast was gunned down police.
25-year-old Ezell Ford was shot and killed by police on the night of August 11th in South Los Angeles. Ford was stopped by police around 8:20 p.m, because there was a shooting in the area and Ford just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He had committed no crime.
According to a statement made by the Police Department, during the course of the stop “a struggle ensued” and police opened fire. Ford was badly injured, and was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
Ford’s family claimed he was laying on the ground and complying with officers when they killed him, a claim that could possibly be substantiated through an autopsy.
However, shortly after the killing, the LAPD placed an “investigative hold” on the report detailing Ezell Ford’s cause of death in order to “preserve the integrity of witness testimony.”
The Autopsy report was held back for months as the LAPD received heavy backlash from those demanding justice for Ezell Ford.
“The blocking of the autopsy report of Ford comes on the heels of the release of the autopsy report on Michael Brown which contradicted the police version of how Brown was killed,” the roundtable’s Earl Ofari Hutchinson said. “The blocking of the release Ford autopsy report further fuels suspicions about the LAPD’s version of the Ford killing.”
As of this afternoon the autopsy report was finally released and seems to back up witness statements of Ford being shot in the back as he lay on the ground.
